Material
& Care
Every ReUp piece begins with reclaimed tyre tubes. Because the material has already had a life before becoming part of your ReUp piece, it will not look or behave like newly manufactured material. And that is intentional.
What to Expect
No two pieces
are exactly alike.
You may notice original markings, numbers, subtle variations in texture, changes in tone, worn surfaces or traces from the material's previous use.
These are not defects. They are authentic characteristics of reclaimed tyre tube and part of the history that makes each ReUp piece individual.
We don't try to make every trace of the material's previous life disappear. We preserve what gives it character.
Your piece may not look exactly like another one, and it isn't meant to.

The Material
Strong by nature.
Reclaimed tyre tube was originally made to withstand demanding conditions. Its natural strength, flexibility, durability and water-resistant properties are part of what drew us to it, and part of what allows us to give it another purpose.
Rather than creating a new material to imitate these qualities, we begin with one that already has them.
A Note About Scent
Give it a little air.
As reclaimed tyre tube is a rubber-based material, your ReUp piece may carry a natural rubber scent when you first receive it. This is normal.
Leave your piece open in a shaded, well-ventilated area for a few days and the scent will gradually fade.
Prolonged exposure to high heat may occasionally make the natural scent more noticeable. If needed, simply allow the piece to air again in a cool, well-ventilated space.

Everyday Care
A little care
goes a long way.
Your ReUp piece is designed to be used, not kept untouched. To help it age well:
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth when needed.
Allow it to dry naturally before storing.
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat.
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents or abrasive cleaning products.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Water & Rain
Water-resistant.
Not invincible.
The reclaimed tyre tube used in ReUp pieces is naturally water-resistant.
For everyday splashes or light rain, simply wipe away excess moisture and allow your piece to dry naturally.

How It Will Age
Let it become yours.
Over time, your piece may develop new marks, subtle changes in surface and other signs of use.
We don't believe everything needs to remain untouched to remain beautiful.
The material arrived with a history. What happens next becomes yours.
Care, Not Perfection
Look after it.
Use it. Let it age.
ReUp is built around the idea that materials don't need to be perfect, or new, to be valuable. The marks already present when your piece arrives tell one part of its story. The ones it gathers through use tell another.
Nothing ends here.
