About the Piece
VOID explores the space between material and absence. Its broad, uninterrupted surface is interrupted by a single curved opening, carved directly into the silhouette to create an integrated handle. What has been taken away becomes as important as what remains. The simplicity of the design leaves the reclaimed tyre tube exposed in its most honest form. Texture, movement and subtle traces of its previous life stretch across the generous surface, giving character to an otherwise restrained silhouette. A familiar handbag, reduced to one unexpected gesture.
No Two Are Exactly Alike
Reclaimed tyre tubes carry traces of their previous life. Subtle differences in texture, markings and surface character are natural to the material and mean your piece may differ slightly from the one photographed.
These variations are part of the piece, not defects.
Care
Treat gently and keep away from prolonged moisture, direct sunlight and harsh chemicals. Clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
